Why we request nominations for SIA’s editorial lists

I am deeply involved throughout the year in producing our editorial lists. Whether listing people or companies, these lists have become much anticipated. Not just by those who find themselves honored to be on them, but by those who want to read their stories and learn from their successes.

Why are nominations and the subsequent lists so important? The companies on our lists are celebrated for having high trust, high employee engagement and low turnover. Moreover, they are guided by visionary leaders who have made a huge impact on the world of work. These are influencers changing people’s perception of engaging talent.

There are those who may disagree with our process. Yes, there is a certain degree of subjectivity. For starters, we don’t rank our honorees — at least on the people side. Neither is it just about financial influence. Suffice to say, however, that we adopt the highest standards of editorial integrity when finalizing these lists.

Now, as 2018 quickly approaches, we are soliciting nominations for our two mainstays: The Staffing 100 (coming to fruition for the seventh time), and the Best Staffing Firms to Work For (entering its ninth season, making it our longest-running list).

So, what’s the buzz about?

A quick look at what these lists do for the ecosystem:

  1. REVEAL niche staffing suppliers.
  2. ELEVATE the ecosystem by inspiring staffing professionals to look at what the stars are doing so they can strive to do better.
  3. UNDERSTAND strategies of how to keep your internal workers engaged so you have a more productive workforce.
  4. GET the motivations of how your staffing employees think, what brings them to work every morning.
  5. SENSE of identity and pride since our industry has its own definitive list.
  6. TRIGGER innovation as the lists explore companies and people providing a variety of services across the workforce solutions spectrum
  7. NEW research based on data that we get through the lists.

Feel free to send us more than one entry for each list. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to bringing you the best of our ecosystem.

By the way, the deadline for Best Staffing Firms to Work For nominations is Nov. 17, and the deadline for Staffing 100 North America nominations is Nov. 30.
